Jaylen Clark made a free throw with 1.4 seconds left to give UCLA its first lead of the game and the 80-79 victory Saturday over Arizona State in a Pac-12 game at Los Angeles.

Clark went to the line after getting fouled by Kimani Lawrence on his second putback attempt following Tyger Campbell's missed jumper in the lane with 3.4 seconds left.

Clark missed his first attempt at the line but made his second. After Arizona State called timeout, Alonzo Verge Jr.'s half-court attempt missed above the backboard at the buzzer.

Cody Riley led UCLA (16-5, 12-3 Pac-12) with 17 points. Johnny Juzang added 12 points, Jules Bernard had 11, and Campbell 10 with six assists. Jaime Jaquez Jr. finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Arizona State (7-11, 4-8) had 25 points from Remy Martin and 18 each from Verge and Lawrence.

Arizona State freshmen Josh Christopher (back) and Marcus Bagley (ankle) did not play against UCLA after missing Wednesday's game at USC.

Jalen Graham and Chris Osten fouled out, leaving the Sun Devils with only six scholarship players in the last 3:45.

Riley's layup with 1:44 left cut Arizona State's lead to 79-77.

After Martin made a turnover and subsequently committed a foul, Campbell tied the game at 79 with two free throws with 39 seconds left.

Holland Woods missed a 3-point attempt for Arizona State and Jaquez grabbed the rebound, which led to Campbell's missed shot and Clark getting fouled with 1.4 seconds left.

Arizona State scored the game's first 10 points, eight by Martin, in the first three minutes of the game.

UCLA cut the lead to one point twice in the first half, only to have Woods answer each time with a 3-pointer.

The Sun Devils ended the first half outscoring UCLA 8-2 behind 3-pointers by Martin and Woods to take a 41-34 halftime lead.

Martin had 17 points and Verge had 10 at halftime. Martin, Verge and Woods combined to make 6 of 9 shots from 3-point range. They were 3 of 10 from beyond the arc after halftime.
