Juwan Durham poured in 18 points as Notre Dame benefited from a strong second half and defeated Wake Forest 79-58 on Tuesday in South Bend, Ind.

Notre Dame (7-9, 4-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) has won four of its past five games. The Irish hope this launches another strong month of February as the team has posted a .500 or better conference record in February in six of its previous seven seasons as ACC members.

Cormac Ryan added 13 points off the bench and Dane Goodwin and Prentiss Hubb both had 10 points for Notre Dame.

Isaiah Mucius' 14 points and Ody Oguama's 13 points paced Wake Forest (5-8, 2-8), which had won two of its previous three games. Daivien Williamson, who led the Demon Deacons in scoring in five of the previous seven games, was held to eight points on 3-for-11 shooting from the field.

Notre Dame, which was coming off a 3-point display with 13-for-24 shooting in a rout at Pittsburgh last Saturday, finished 10-for-23 from long range in this game.

The Irish have been outrebounded in all except two ACC games, but held a 44-31 edge on the boards against Wake Forest. Nate Laszewski pulled in 10 rebounds.

Notre Dame pulled away from a 35-32 halftime lead.

Wake Forest has been on pace for a program-record 3-point rate by averaging nine per game. The Demon Deacons hit nine again in this game but shot just 34.4 percent overall from the field.

The Irish improved to 2-3 in ACC home games as this was their only home game during a four-game stretch.

This was the beginning of three consecutive road games for Wake Forest, which is winless this season away from home.
