Jase Febres scored 16 points and Jericho Sims added 12 points and 11 rebounds as Texas rolled to an 89-58 win over visiting High Point on Monday in Austin, Texas, in the Longhorns' final tune-up before Big 12 play.

The Longhorns led by 12 at the half and continued to extend their advantage through the first 10 minutes of the second half. Texas owned a 65-39 edge after a layup by Sims with 11:27 to play and moved ahead by 30 points, at 72-42, on an Andrew Jones 3-pointer at the 9:01 mark.

As the Longhorns forged a 12-1 run to put the game away, High Point was missing six straight shots and 11 out of 12.

Jones and Courtney Ramey added 13 points apiece for the Longhorns (10-2), while Matt Coleman III hit for 10 points and handed out eight assists. The Longhorns, who shot 55.4 percent for the game and 57.6 percent in the second half, are now 7-0 at home this season.

Texas' run of 10 wins in 12 games is the best in the Shaka Smart era at Texas.

Cliff Thomas Jr. and John-Michael Wright paced the Panthers (3-10) with 15 points apiece. High Point, which was just 17 of 51 from the floor (33.3 percent) has lost three of its past four games.

Texas outshot the Panthers 53.1 percent to 32 percent in the first half, leading by as many as 13 points midway through the period en route to a 41-29 advantage to halftime. The Longhorns went 4 of 10 from beyond the arc in the half, but High Point stayed within distant reach thanks to making 12 of 16 free throws over the first 20 minutes.

The Longhorns got balanced scoring in the first half, led by Sims' seven points and six rebounds and six points from Coleman.

High Point's Eric Coleman Jr. led all scorers in the half with nine points, six of those from the charity stripe.
