DJ Funderburk, Devon Daniels and Markell Johnson all scored 13 points to lead a balanced offensive attack as North Carolina State avenged a defeat from earlier this month by defeating visiting Clemson 60-54 on Saturday afternoon at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

C.J. Bryce chipped in with 11 points for NC State (13-5, 4-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), which has won two home games this week and 11 straight at home overall. The Wolfpack have won three of their last four games,

Clemson (9-8, 3-4) had won three games in a row, beginning with a home victory by 81-70 against NC State on Jan. 4.

Funderburk, who also had a team-high 11 rebounds, has been the leading scorer for NC State in five of the last six games. Bryce was playing his second game since missing four straight with a concussion suffered during a team workout.

Aamir Simms posted 18 points and 11 rebounds and Tevin Mack had 12 points for Clemson.

Clemson started the new year by topping North Carolina in Chapel Hill for the first time ever a week ago, aided by a comeback from 10 points down in the final two minutes of regulation, and followed that by upsetting No. 3 Duke on Tuesday night.

But in Saturday's game, the Tigers were hurt by shooting 9-for-23 on free throws and 5-for-20 on 3-point attempts. Clemson made 26 foul shots in the victory against NC State earlier this month.

Facing a double-figure hole, the Tigers made a second-half move to close within 49-41 with nearly 8 1/2 minutes left. The Wolfpack scored the next five points, while Clemson went through a four-minute span without scoring.

The Tigers cut it to 56-50, but Braxton Beverly's 3-pointer with 47 seconds to go helped the Wolfpack close out the victory despite a 3-pointer from Clemson's Curran Scott with 21 seconds remaining. Those were Beverly's only points of the game.

NC State held a 36-24 halftime lead, making a key first-half run as Clemson missed eight of nine shots during a stretch.
