Sacar Anim scored 19 points, Theo John added 11 and Jamal Cain snagged 12 rebounds as host Marquette rolled past Jacksonville 75-56 on Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

Marquette earned its fourth victory in five games despite missing its top player. Golden Eagles senior guard Markus Howard, who on Monday was named Big East Player of the Week after breaking the Orlando Invitational tournament scoring record, was ruled out upon being placed in the concussion protocol, Marquette announced before the game.

It was the first time Howard -- the nation's leading scorer at 26.0 points a game -- missed action since Feb. 21, 2018, late in his sophomore season.

Marquette opened the game on a 16-4 run and then closed the first half on a 14-6 tear. The Golden Eagles shot 48.6 percent (17-for-35) in the first half -- including 7-for-17 from beyond the arc -- to take a 46-23 lead at the break.

Jacksonville started the second half on a 7-2 run but never came closer than 17 points the rest of the way, as Marquette led by as many as 24 down the stretch.

Destin Barnes paced the Dolphins with 12 points, while Bryce Workman chipped in 10. Jacksonville struggled to 29.5 percent shooting (18-for-61) and was just 5-for-20 from 3-point range.

Marquette went 25-for-59 (42.4 percent) from the floor. John finished with 11 points and registered two of the Golden Eagles' nine blocks. Ed Morrow also had two blocks, while Cain and Jayce Johnson each scored eight points.

Jacksonville entered the bonus with 15:12 remaining. The Dolphins were 11-for-18 from the free-throw line before that point, but attempted just eight free throws the rest of the way.

David Bell had six points and six rebounds for the Dolphins and saw his streak of consecutive double-doubles snapped at four games.

Marquette improved to 3-0 all-time against Jacksonville in their first meeting since Nov. 28, 2011.
