Four players scored in double figures Wednesday night as Washington State made the short trip across the border into Idaho and beat the Vandals 78-65 at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow.

Tony Miller scored a game-high 18 points for the Cougars (4-4), making 6 of 7 shots from the field. Noah Williams added 12 off the bench, hitting 5 of 6 attempts. Jervae Robinson and CJ Elleby each contributed 10 points.

Scott Blakney paced Idaho (3-6) with 13 points before fouling out, while Trevon Allen scored 12 but made only 5 of 16 attempts from the field. Keyshaad Dixon and Damen Thacker chipped in 10 points each, but the Vandals hit only 41.3 percent from the field and were outrebounded 40-31.

Washington State pulled away with a 9-0 run early in the second half, capping it with Elleby's dunk in transition for a 46-28 advantage with 16:19 remaining. The margin reached 20 with 14:43 left when Williams drilled a 3-pointer, and reached as high as 25 points in the final five minutes.

The Cougars also got a nice all-around game from Jaylen Shead, who finished with six points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

Washington State wasted little time putting its stamp on the game, going up 7-0 just 1:44 into the game on two free throws by Jeff Pollard. Idaho was able to make one good push, grabbing a 16-15 edge with 10:01 left in the half on a Dixon layup.

A 3-pointer by Allen at the 8:01 mark enabled the Vandals to go up 19-17. However, the Cougars regained the lead for good on their next possession with a Robinson 3-ball, starting a 15-2 spurt that upped the margin to 11.

Dixon enabled Idaho to grab a bit of momentum near the half's end, converting a 3-point play with a second remaining to push it into the locker room down 32-24. Washington State almost doubled up the Vandals on the glass 23-12, not allowing an offensive rebound.
