Luka Garza finished with 29 points and snared 12 rebounds, Joe Wieskamp had 14 points and eight boards, and Jack Nunge finished with 11 points to spark Iowa to an 83-68 win over North Florida in Iowa City on Thursday.

Garza shot 12-for-18 from the field, including hitting both of his 3-point attempts, to lead all scorers. Wieskamp was 6-for-12, while Joe Toussaint added 10 points for the Hawkeyes (3-1).

The Hawkeyes, playing the fourth of a season-opening five-game homestand, shot 44.4 percent from the field (32-for-72) and 27.3 percent on 3-pointers (6-for-22).

Ivan Gandia-Rosa paced North Florida (4-2) with 18 points and seven assists. Carter Hendricksen finished with 17 points and nine rebounds, and Wajid Aminu had 13 points and seven boards.

The Ospreys, a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, opened the season with four wins in their first five games for their best start through five games in the Division I era. The Ospreys, who led the nation in made 3-pointers per game with 14, shot 12-for-29 on treys (41.4 percent).

The Hawkeyes broke open a close game early in the second half. Garza hit a jumper and Nunge added a 3-pointer to increase the lead to 56-39 with 14:19 left.

The Ospreys managed just four points in the first six-plus minutes of the second half until Emmanuel Adedoyin hit a 3-pointer to lower the gap to 56-42.

The Ospreys got off to a solid start before Iowa started dominating on the boards and playing better perimeter defense.

Early on, the Ospreys lived up to their lofty 3-point national ranking, connecting on three of their first seven from behind the arc to lead 20-18 with 8:58 left in the first half.

The Hawkeyes scored the first four points of the game before the Ospreys answered with a 12-2 run to take a 12-6 lead following two free throws by Hendricksen.
