Omari Spellman contributed 14 and Donte DiVincenzo had 13 for the Wildcats (17-1, 5-1 Big East), who led from the second possession to the final buzzer and won their seventh straight against the Hoyas. Phil Booth scored 12 points and Eric Paschall had 10.

Villanova head coach Jay Wright earned his 403rd career win on the Main Line since taking over in 2001. The program's leader for victories is Al Severance, who won 413 games from 1936-61.

Villanova converted a season-high 17 shots from beyond the arc, going 17-of-33.

Georgetown was paced by Jessie Govan with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Hoyas, who dropped to 12-6 and 2-5 in the league, hit just 4 of 15 from 3-point land.

Villanova started out strong in the second half with a trio of baskets -- a jumper by Bridges followed by a steal and layup by Paschall and a 3-pointer by Brunson for a 49-20 lead in the opening 1:45.

Georgetown was constantly hampered by turnovers with the 11th miscue leading to Brunson's trey.

A 3-pointer by Bridges pushed the advantage to 30 at 52-22. At that stage, there was still 17:32 remaining.

DiVincenzo dropped in a 3-pointer from the wing to complete a 15-2 run for an even more commanding 57-22 lead with 15:27 left. Bridges then knocked down a triple extending the run to 18-2 and the lead to 60-22.

Villanova jumped out to an early lead and really extended its advantage with a dazzling 18-0 run. Booth completed a four-point play, Spellman drained a long 3-pointer and the lead surged to 31-8 with 7:58 left in the first half. Four different players hit a 3-pointer during the spurt.

The Wildcats knocked down 10 of 19 shots from beyond the arc and led 42-20 at halftime.

Georgetown was 8-of-26 from the field, including 0-of-8 on 3-pointers, in the opening 20 minutes.
