Florida State remained one of just 10 unbeaten programs in NCAA Division I on Wednesday night with a 96-71 win against Loyola University of Maryland.

The Seminoles, who improved to 8-0, are off to their best start since 2003-04 when the program won its first 10 games. Florida State also won its 25th consecutive home game Wednesday night, a streak that dates back to the end of the 2015-16 season.

Florida State was led by guard Braian Angola with 18 points on a scorching 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, followed by guard CJ Walker with 15 points and a team-high six assists and three steals.

The Seminoles also got 14 points from guard M.J. Walker, and forward Phil Cofer added 12 points in the win.

The Greyhounds (1-7), who lost their fourth game in a row, got a team-high 15 points each from guards Isaiah Hart and Chuck Champion.

Florida State led by as many as 20 points in the first half and carried a 46-31 edge into intermission behind 55 percent shooting from the field. The Seminoles' lead only grew from there, reaching as many as 26 points in the second half.

Guard Terance Mann, who came into the game as Florida State's leading scorer, topped the team in rebounding with seven boards while adding 11 points.

The Greyhounds also got double figures from forward Ian Langendoerfer with 10 points. Just missing a double-double, but leading his team in rebounds, was forward Cam Gregory with eight boards and nine points in the loss.

Wednesday's game between the Seminoles and the Greyhounds marked the second-ever meeting. Florida State now leads the series 2-0 after defeating Loyola 89-72 on Nov. 17, 1997, in the second round of the Preseason NIT in Tallahassee.

Florida State's next test will be Sunday in Tampa, Fla., against Tulane.

Loyola will try to rebound in its next outing Saturday at home against Binghamton.
