The Weatherspoon brothers combined for 24 points, Mississippi State led wire-to-wire and the Bulldogs were never threatened in a 79-48 over Florida A&M on Saturday in Starkeville, Miss.

Freshman Nick Weatherspoon and older brother junior Quinndary each scored 12 points as did Lamar Peters and Abdul Ado to lead the Bulldogs, who dominated from the opening tip for the second straight game.

In their opener, the Bulldogs (2-0) defeated Alcorn State by 28 points.

Marcus Barham led the Rattlers (0-4) with 15 points on 5 of 15 from the field.

Mississippi State scored the first five points of the game and were up by double digits before the Rattlers (0-4) knew what hit them.

Ado made his long-awaited Mississippi State debut after sitting out last season for eligibility reasons. His dunk at the 15:30 mark gave the Bulldogs a double-digit lead at 13-2.

Ado finished with eight rebounds in 23 minutes of play.

The Rattlers battled back to cut the deficit to six at 21-15 with 3:03 left in the half.

Mississippi State scored seven of the next nine points to take a 28-17 lead at the break.

The Bulldogs opened up the second half on a 20-4 run to deflate any hope the Rattlers might have had just stay close.

Desmond Williams added 14 points on 5 of 20 from the field for the Rattlers. He had eight rebounds but also committed seven of Florida A&M's 23 turnovers, which the Bulldogs converted into 25 points.

The Rattlers were held to 28.1 percent (18 of 64) while the Bulldogs connected on 53.2 percent (33 of 62) of their field-goal attempts.
