Phil Forte fired in five 3-pointers and scored a team-high 19 points on Thursday to lead Oklahoma State past Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 92-70 at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.

The Cowboys' guard went 6-for-13 from the floor, including 5-for-10 from behind the arc in his best scoring game since the opening week of the season.

Guard Jeffrey Carroll added 13 points for Oklahoma State, while three other guards also reached double figures: Lindy Waters with 12 and Thomas Dziagwa and Brandon Averette had 11 each.

Oklahoma State outrebounded the Islanders 49-43, with forward Mitchell Solomon grabbing a game-high 14 boards, including nine at the offensive end.

Guard Ehab Amin led Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with 23 points, while forward Rashawn Thomas -- an Oklahoma high school product -- added 15 for the Islanders. Thomas also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.

The Cowboys improved to 10-2 for the season and 9-0 all-time against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in their final nonconference game before Big 12 Conference play. Oklahoma State opens league play at home against No. 11 West Virginia on Dec. 30.

A&M-Corpus Christi lost its second straight to fall to 7-4. The Islanders visit New Orleans to open Southland Conference play Dec. 31.

The Cowboys eased into the matchup, falling behind 11-6 as Amin and Thomas combined for eight early points to lead A&M-Corpus Christi.

But with the game tied 17-17, Oklahoma State surged behind its bench, going on a run to a 52-33 halftime lead. Dziagwa and Carroll each had 11 in the half to combine for 22 of the Cowboys' 34 bench points. Averette added seven while Forte led the starters with 10 points.

Dziagwa fired in three 3-pointers during a span of 1:38, helping expand Oklahoma State's lead to 37-23. The Cowboys owned their biggest lead at 47-27 at the 2:54 mark.
