Josh Okogie set a school freshman scoring record with 38 points and Georgia Tech beat Tulane 82-68 on Saturday at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.

Okogie broke the record of 33 set by Mark Price in 1982 and Dion Glover in 1998 as the Yellow Jackets improved to 4-1 under first-year coach Josh Pastner.

Okogie shot 12 for 20 from the field and was 13 for 18 from the line. He had five rebounds and three assists.

The Yellow Jackets also got 19 points and 12 rebounds from center Ben Lammers. It was the third double-double of the season for the junior. Lammers also had four blocks and is among the nation's leaders with 28.

Forward Quinton Stephens added 14 points and 12 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double.

Tulane (1-5) got 20 points from Cameron Reynolds, who was hampered by early foul trouble and eventually fouled out. Malik Morgan added 13 and Kain Harris scored 11 for the Green Wave.

Georgia Tech led 37-32 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets, aided by Tulane's 0-for-6 shooting to start the second half, led by as many as 18 when Lammers converted a three-point play to make it 48-32.

Georgia Tech plays its first road game on Tuesday at Penn State. Tulane travels across town to play New Orleans on Tuesday.
