Colton Weisbrod had a double-double to lead visiting Lamar to a 63-60 victory over Oregon State on Wednesday night at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore.

Weisbrod made just 6 of 18 shots from the field but posted 16 points and 12 rebounds. Marcus Owens had 15 points and seven rebounds for Lamar (2-0).

Drew Eubanks had 17 points, 18 rebounds and six blocked shots for Oregon State (2-1). Jaquori McLaughlin added 15 points, and Tres Tinkle chipped in with nine points and eight rebounds.

Lamar mounted a 10-2 run to take a 41-29 lead early in the second half.

Oregon State responded with a 12-0 run to tie the score on a layup by McLaughlin midway through the second half. Owens answered with a 3-pointer and a jumper to put Lamar up 46-41.

The Beavers cut the Cardinals' lead to 48-44 on a dunk by Eubanks and got within three on a free throw by Eubanks, but a big basket by Weisbrod put Lamar up 52-47.

The Beavers got within one on two free throws by Tinkle with 24 seconds remaining, but two late free throws by Weisbrod helped the Cardinals hold on.

Oregon State shot a sizzling 62.5 percent from the field and held Lamar to 28.2 percent in the first half, but the Beavers trailed 29-25 at the break after committing 18 turnovers. Eight different players committed a turnover for Oregon State.

Lamar took an early 9-4 lead on a layup by Weisbrod. The Cardinals later went up 15-11 on a 3-pointer by Christian Albright. The Beavers got within two on several occasions late in the first half, but a basket by Josh Nzeakor with 27 seconds left gave the Cardinals a four-point advantage at the half.

Oregon State shot 48.9 percent from the field in the game and Lamar was slightly above 28 percent. The Beavers finished with 28 turnovers and the Cardinals had eight.
