Jerome Robinson scored 16 points, and Boston College snapped a 20-game losing streak with a 73-57 nonconference victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

The win was the first of this calendar year for Boston College, which last won by beating New Hampshire on Dec. 30. The Eagles went 0-18 in the ACC, then lost in the first round of the conference tournament and fell to Nicholls State in this season's opener Friday night.

The Boston College basketball and football teams combined to become the first major conference school without a win in either sport in the same season -- the football team ending that run with a win at North Carolina State on Oct. 29.

Robinson added seven rebounds and four assists, A.J. Turner posted 13 points and four assists, and Ky Bowman came off the bench for 11 points and four assists. The Eagles recorded 22 assists on 30 baskets.

Boston College (1-1) broke a 5-5 tie on a 3-pointer by Turner 2:25 into the game and never trailed, pulling away from a 31-21 halftime lead to the easy victory.

Bakari Copeland led the visiting Hawks (0-3) with 14 points and added five rebounds. Logan McIntosh had 11 points and five assists, and graduate senior Derrico Peck eight rebounds, five steals and five points.

Maryland Eastern Shore was coming off a pair of four-point losses that opened the season -- at George Washington and at home against UMBC. The Hawks, who shot just 5-for-22 from 3-point range, visit Wichita State on Sunday.

The Eagles, who were 7-for-23 from behind the arc, host Stony Brook on Sunday.
