An early second-half run Wednesday night enabled Arkansas to blow open its Southeastern Conference game with Alabama and earn an 87-68 win at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.

Leading 35-31 in the first minute of the second half after the Crimson Tide rattled off two quick buckets, the Razorbacks (17-5, 6-3) went on a 16-5 tear to open up a 15-point lead at the 14:36 mark after a 3-point play by center Moses Kingsley.

Arkansas never looked back, expanding the lead as high as 27 points with 3:57 remaining as it kept converting shots. It made better than 57 percent of its field-goal tries in the second half and finished the night at 49.2 percent.

Guard Dusty Hannahs came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points for the Razorbacks, hitting a career-high five 3-pointers. Kingsley added 15 and Jaylen Barford finished with 13 points, while Daryl Macon hit for 12 and Manuale Watkins came off the bench to tally 10.

Alabama (13-8, 6-3) was paced by guard Dazon Ingram with 14 points, while forward Braxton Key scored 12 and reserve Ar'Mond Davis tallied 10 points. The Crimson Tide sank just 39.6 percent of their field-goal attempts and committed 18 turnovers, leading to 28 points.

Alabama actually got off to a decent start, leading 11-7 at the second TV timeout as it slowed the pace and forced Arkansas to miss a spate of early shots. But the Razorbacks rattled off a 19-6 spurt to take a 26-17 edge and didn’t trail for the night’s remainder.

Arkansas finished with a 40-23 advantage in bench points and outscored the Crimson Tide 19-9 on the fast break.
