The Gamecocks (12-3, 2-0 SEC) fashioned a 13-3 run over a 3 1/2-minute stretch of the second half capped by a 3-pointer by P.J. Dozier at the 3:21 mark that garnered South Carolina its largest lead at 72-61.

South Carolina also got 16 points from guard Sindarius Thornwell and 15 from center Chris Silva.

The Aggies were led by guard D.J. Hogg's 25 points, 14 of which came in the first half. Freshman forward Robert Williams added 12 points and took 12 rebounds and center Tyler Davis added 10 points for Texas A&M (8-6, 0-3 SEC), which has lost three straight games and four of its past five outings.

Texas A&M committed 25 turnovers in the game, leading to 30 points for the Gamecocks.

Hogg's 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer allowed Texas A&M, which enjoyed as much as a seven-point lead in the first half, a 38-36 lead at intermission. Hogg made all five of his shots from the floor -- including four 3-pointers -- over the first 20 minutes as the Aggies collectively shot 69.6 percent on their field goals.

South Carolina stayed close in the half despite shooting just 35.1 percent thanks to the Notice's 10 points and 15 turnovers by the Aggies.

The Gamecocks surged to a 43-38 lead in the first 3:07 of the second half as Texas A&M missed its first four shots after halftime and committed another three turnovers. The Aggies' first field goal of the half came at the 14:42 mark on a 3-pointer by Tonny Trocha-Morelos, but by then Texas A&M trailed by eight points.

Another 3-pointer by Trocha-Morelos with 6:52 to play leapfrogged A&M back to the lead at 59-58, setting the table for the Gamecocks' runaway finish.
