Chicago State had no answer for Iowa State's Jameel McKay and as a result had no chance as the No. 7 Cyclones ran away with a 106-64 win on Monday at Ames, Iowa.

McKay was the Cyclone offense early. He finished with a career-high 25 points on 12 of 15 shooting as most of his attempts were in close range.

The senior forward finished with nine dunks and 11 rebounds as he recorded his sixth career double-double.

Fellow senior forward Abdel Nader added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Cyclones (2-0). Guards Monte Morris and Naz Mitrou-Long each had 14 points.

The Cyclones shot 59 percent.

Iowa State took a 45-39 lead into the break and opened the second half on a 13-0 run to cruise the rest of the way.

Chicago State guard Elliott Cole scored 18 points.

The Cougars (1-1) picked up two technical for taunting after hitting baskets in the first half.

Monday's game was Iowa State coach Steve Prohm's home debut. He replaced Fred Hoiberg in the off-season after Hoiberg left to coach the Chicago Bulls.

Iowa State began the season by beating Colorado in a neutral site game in South Dakota.
