Tulane 56, USF 51 (OT): Louis Dabney scored a game-high 25 points, including six in overtime, as the host Green Wave needed an extra frame to survive a scare from the Bulls in American Athletic Conference play.

Jay Hook added nine points, four rebounds and two assists for Tulane (12-4, 3-1 AAC), which prevailed despite an ugly 15-of-45 shooting performance. Payton Henson and Kajon Mack tallied five points apiece off the Green Wave bench as only Dabney (8-of-12) and Ryan Smith (2-of-4) shot 50 percent from the field or better.

Corey Allen Jr. totaled 13 points to lead the offense for USF (7-10, 1-3), which didn't fare much better from the field, shooting 35.6 percent. Bo Zeigler equaled a career high, scoring 12 points off the bench, and Troy Holston Jr. had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, for the Bulls, who managed only five trips to the free throw line, making four.

After trailing 22-17 at the break, USF battled to stay in the game with a Holston 3-pointer pulling the Bulls within 33-29 with 15 minutes to play before eight unanswered points extended Tulane's lead to 41-29 just under three minutes later. USF ran off 10 straight points, led by eight from Zeigler, to get to within 41-39 with 6:16 remaining and an Anthony Collins jumper pushed the Bulls in front 46-45 with 22 seconds left, but after Jonathan Stark split a pair of free throws to tie the game at 46-46, Collins couldn't get his try at the buzzer to fall, forcing overtime.

In the extra frame, Holston sank a bucket on the opening possession to give USF the lead and then drained a 3-pointer to knot the score at 51-51 with 2:37 left. A pair of free throws from Dabney pushed the Green Wave back in front 53-51 with just under two minutes to go and after Dylan Osetkowski converted 1-of-2 from the line, Dabney converted two more free throws and the Bulls were out of answers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USF committed 14 turnovers in the first half alone and 19 for the game. ... Stark, Tulane's leading scorer entering play, finished with just one point, missing all six of his field goal tries to fall to 1-of-16 in the last two games. ... The Bulls have averaged 50.5 points in conference play after averaging just under 70 in their first 13 games.
