Monte Morris added 19 points - 17 in the final 20 minutes - for Iowa State (21-8, 11-6 Big 12), which closed out the contest with a 59-31 run after trailing 39-18 with 19 minutes to play and pulled into a second-place tie with Oklahoma in the conference. The Cyclones, who also received 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds off the bench from Jameel McKay, shot 58.3 percent from the field, including 6-of-11 3-pointers, in the second half to snap a two-game losing streak.

Iowa State pulled within 19-14 with 9:17 left in the half, but the Sooners reeled off the next 11 points as part of an 18-4 run to take a 37-18 lead into the break and marking the Cyclones’ lowest-scoring opening half of the season.
