Boston College 79, North Carolina State 63: Olivier Hanlan scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the host Eagles snapped a nine-game losing streak.

Patrick Heckmann finished with 14 points and seven assists, Aaron Brown scored 13 points, Dimitri Batten tallied 11 points and eight rebounds and Dennis Clifford chipped in 10 points and three blocks for Boston College (10-18, 2-14 ACC). The Eagles shot 56.8 percent, including 7-of-15 from 3-point range, and never trailed in recording their first victory since edging Georgia Tech 64-62 on Jan. 25.

Kyle Washington had 14 points and seven rebounds for North Carolina State (17-12, 8-8), which had a three-game winning streak snapped. Ralston Turner finished with 13 points on just 5-of-18 shooting, Trevor Lacey scored 12 points and Abdul-Malik Abu had 10 points for the Wolfpack, who shot 32.8 percent.

N.C. State, which came into the contest holding its previous three opponents to an average of 54.7 points and 37.2 shooting, trailed 43-26 at halftime as Boston College shot a blistering 65.2 percent en route to a season high for first-half points. Hanlan led the way with 14 points while Clifford added eight points and Brown finished with seven, including a three-point play to cap a 6-1 run to end the half.

The Eagles then scored the first six points of the second half to boost their lead to 23 points. N.C. State got as close as 12 points on a Lacey 3-pointer with 3 1/2 minutes to go but Boston College sealed the win by sinking 9-of-11 free throws down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: N.C. State had won its three previous ACC road games, including back-to-back wins at then-No. 8 Louisville (74-65) and Tuesday at No. 18 North Carolina (58-46). ... It was the first ACC home win for first-year Boston College coach Jim Christian. ... It was N.C. State's first loss to the Eagles in seven games under head coach Mark Gottfried.
