No. 5 Duke 73, Syracuse 54: Freshman swingman Justise Winslow set a career high with 23 points as the host Blue Devils sailed to their ninth straight victory.

Quinn Cook chipped in 17 points for Duke (26-3, 13-3 ACC), which overcame subpar shooting from 3-point range (8-of-23) and the foul line (9-of-16). Winslow added nine rebounds and three blocked shots, while Jahlil Okafor contributed 13 points and 14 boards.

Tyler Roberson had 16 points and nine boards to pace the Orange (18-11, 9-7), who missed 17 of their 20 3-pointers and committed 15 turnovers. Syracuse shot 30.6 percent from the field with its three starting guards combining to shoot 10-of-40.

Winslow was the only Duke player who shot well in the first half, as he finished the session 7-of-11 for 15 points. The Blue Devils led 17-16 with about eight minutes left when Winslow scored nine straight Duke points to create a 26-18 cushion en route to a 34-25 lead at the break.

About four minutes into the second half, Matt Jones and Winslow drained back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the margin to 44-31. Shortly thereafter, Cook scored four straight points before Winslow, Cook and Tyus Jones each drained a 3-pointer in a 90-second span to push the cushion to 57-38.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cook missed his first six 3-pointers before making one with under 12 minutes left in the game to extend his school-record streak to 39 straight games with a 3-pointer. ... Syracuse C Rakeem Christmas fouled out midway through the second half for the second straight game. He finished with 11 points and five rebounds before exiting with 9:42 left. ... Winslow's previous career high was 20 points, accomplished against Wake Forest last month and matched versus Clemson last weekend.
