Georgia 76, Ole Miss 72: Kenny Gaines made 4-of-7 from 3-point range en route to a game-high 22 points as the visiting Bulldogs swept the season series from the Rebels in SEC play.

Marcus Thornton recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds while Nemanja Djurisic also made four from behind the arc to score 17 for Georgia (18-9, 9-6 SEC). Charles Mann chipped in 10 points and five assists for the Bulldogs, who made 11-of-23 from 3-point range while shooting only 37.1 percent from the field overall.

Stefan Moody led the way with 19 points, making only 2-of-11 from long range, and Jarvis Summers scored 13 for Ole Miss (19-9, 10-5), which was 6-of-29 overall from behind the arc. Sebastian Saiz collected 12 points and 13 rebounds while Terence Smith scored 11 off the bench for the Rebels.

Georgia drained eight 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes -- one each from Djurisic, Mann and Gaines as the Bulldogs scored 11 of the final 13 for a 34-23 lead at intermission. Ole Miss was 0-of-7 from behind the arc in the first half, but Smith made its third in just over eight minutes in the second half to trim the deficit to 45-39.

Gaines made consecutive 3-pointers for a 51-39 lead before the Rebels scored 14 of the next 19, capped by two free throws from Summers to cut the deficit to three with 4:55 left. Moody’s 3-pointer pulled Ole Miss within 60-58, but Thornton countered with two free throws and a three-point play to start a 7-0 run and Georgia held off a late rally.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgia has recorded five road victories in the SEC, its most in league play since 1991. …Summers moved past Gerald Glass (1.564) for ninth on the Rebels’ all-time scoring list with 1,576. … Thornton notched his eighth career double-double – five this season.
