East Carolina 73, USF 60: Caleb White scored 19 points, including a career-high 5-of-6 from 3-point range, to lead the host Pirates past the Bulls in an American Athletic Conference showdown.

B.J. Tyson added 19 points and six rebounds off the bench for East Carolina (12-15, 5-9 AAC), which snapped a two-game slide and won its fourth straight home game. Marshall Guilmette contributed 13 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals for the Pirates, who collected 10 steals and forced 14 USF turnovers.

Corey Allen Jr. totaled 28 points, eight rebounds and three steals for the Bulls (8-20, 2-13), who lost for the 12th time in 13 games and were unable to capitalize on a win over Houston last time out - their first since Jan. 3. Troy Holston Jr. registered 13 points and Anthony Collins dished out a game-high eight assists but went scoreless on 0-of-3 shooting for USF, which was terrible from the free throw line, shooting 12-of-22.

The Bulls jumped out to a 7-0 lead, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Holston as East Carolina missed its first five attempts from the field, but the Pirates would storm ahead on a 22-8 surge to take a 22-15 lead with just under seven minutes to go before halftime. A Bo Zeigler layup trimmed USF's deficit to five but White answered immediately from 3-point range for East Carolina and the Pirates closed the half with a 35-25 advantage.

East Carolina got a spark from 3-pointers by White and Terry Whisnant, using an 11-0 run to take full control of the game with a 46-25 lead in the opening minutes of the second half, and another 3-pointer from White extended the Pirates' lead to 53-31 just past the midway point of the period. Allen accounted for all of the scoring during a 12-2 spurt that brought the Bulls back to within 55-43 with a little more than five minutes left, but a pair of free throws from Guilmette and yet another White 3-pointer snapped the surge and East Carolina cruised down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: East Carolina snapped a string of five straight losses to USF and improved to 4-5 in the series. ... The Bulls are 5-17 when trailing at halftime. ... The Pirates have held four straight visitors to 60 points or less.
