No. 4 Wisconsin 63, Minnesota 53: Frank Kaminsky recorded 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks as the Badgers turned back the visiting Golden Gophers for their 10th straight victory.

Bronson Koenig made three 3-pointers en route to 17 points for Wisconsin (25-2, 13-1 Big Ten), which has matched its best start in the program’s history in 2006-07. Nigel Hayes contributed nine points and seven rebounds for the Badgers, who finished with nine blocked shots.

Nate Mason, DeAndre Mathieu and Carlos Morris led the way with 11 points apiece for Minnesota (16-12, 5-10), which has dropped three straight after winning five of seven. Maurice Walker contributed eight points and nine rebounds while leading scorer Andre Hollins scored only two points on 1-of-8 shooting for the Golden Gophers.

Minnesota was within a point with six minutes left in the first half before Koenig scored seven of Wisconsin's final 11 points to build a 35-27 lead at intermission. Kaminsky made 5-of-6 from the field in the opening 20 minutes as Badgers shot 54.2 percent.

The Golden Gophers were within eight before Kaminsky drained a 3-pointer to cap a 7-0 surge that pushed the lead to 15 with 10 ½ minutes remaining. Sam Dekker steamed down the lane for a dunk to extend the advantage to 54-38 with under seven minutes to go and Minnesota could not get closer than eight the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wisconsin G Josh Gasser became the second player in program history to accumulate 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 250 assists after scoring seven on Saturday, joining Michael Finley. … The Golden Gophers attempted only one free throw and missed it while Wisconsin was called for only seven fouls. … The Badgers have won seven of the last nine and 20 of the past 26 meetings with Minnesota.
