Kyle Wiltjer scored a career-best 45 points - the third-highest total in Gonzaga history - and matched his career high of seven 3-pointers as the visiting Bulldogs tamed the Tigers in West Coast Conference play.

Wiltjer was 15-of-22 from the field for Gonzaga (27-1, 15-0) while becoming the first Bulldogs’ player to reach 40 points since Adam Morrison scored 44 against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 18, 2006. Gary Bell Jr. added 12 points as the Bulldogs shot 60 percent from the field while winning their 20th consecutive game.

T.J. Wallace scored 19 points and David Taylor added 18 for Pacific (10-17, 2-13), which lost its eighth consecutive game. Ray Bowles tallied 13 points and Eric Thompson added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Tigers.

Pacific pulled within 63-55 with 8:37 to play and Wiltjer answered with a 3-pointer, and then the Tigers were within 66-59 and Wiltjer again connected on a 3-pointer with 6:17 to go. Wallace’s basket moved the Tigers within seven again with 5:21 remaining and Wiltjer scored back-to-back baskets to stretch it out to double digits and later capped his performance with a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left.

Gonzaga led by 11 after a 3-pointer by Wiltjer nine minutes into the game and Pacific recovered to pull within 34-30 on a jumper by Wallace with 6:20 to go in the half. Wiltjer had 22 points at the break as the Bulldogs led 45-37 and the advantage was 13 after two free throws by Kevin Pangos with 16:35 to play before the Tigers made their charge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gonzaga was 10-of-18 from 3-point range and 16-of-17 from the free-throw line. … Pacific had scored 60 or fewer points in five of its past six games before the good offensive showing against the Bulldogs in which it was 11-of-19 from 3-point range. … Wiltjer has scored 20 or more points 11 times this season. ... Frank Burgess scored 52 points for Gonzaga in 1961 after 7-foot-3 Jean Claude Lefebvre recorded 50 in 1958.
