No. 7 Arizona 86, Washington State 59: Brandon Ashley, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Kaleb Tarczewski scored 17 points apiece as the visiting Wildcats routed the Cougars.

T.J. McConnell collected 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals for Arizona (22-3, 10-2 Pac-12), which shot 57.1 percent en route to its eighth straight win against the Cougars. Hollis-Jefferson grabbed 10 rebounds while Gabe York added nine points and six boards off the bench.

Dexter Kernich-Drew led Washington State (11-14, 5-8) with six 3-pointers and 20 points. DaVonte Lacy scored 18 points and Jordan Railey chipped in nine for the Cougars, who were outrebounded by 21 as they lost for the seventh time in nine games.

Arizona raced to its biggest halftime lead of the season at 53-19 after shooting 60 percent and outrebounding the Cougars 26-9. Hollis-Jefferson scored 12 points in the opening period for the Wildcats, who held Washington State to seven first-half points in last season’s 60-25 victory in Tucson.

Kernich-Drew, who has averaged 21.7 points with 14 3-pointers over his last three games, drained back-to-back shots from beyond the arc to cut the deficit to 67-39 with just over 13 minutes left, but the Cougars would get no closer. The Wildcats were outscored 40-33 in the second half despite having several starters on the floor late in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona backup PG Parker Jackson-Cartwright missed his fourth straight game due to a concussion. … Lacy, who came in averaging a team-high 16.9 points, was held scoreless in the first 20 minutes after missing all four of his shots. … The Wildcats have held 68 of their last 70 opponents under 80 points.
