North Carolina State 74, No. 8 Louisville 65: Anthony Barber led the way with 21 points as the visiting Wolfpack upset the Cardinals for only their second victory in the last seven contests.

Trevor Lacey contributed 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for North Carolina State (15-11, 6-7 ACC), which had dropped its last three games against ranked conference foes by a total of nine points since defeating then-No. 2 Duke on Jan. 11. Ralston Turner chipped in with 10 points while BeeJay Anya and Caleb Martin grabbed 10 rebounds apiece as the Wolfpack held Louisville to 32.8 percent shooting.

Chris Jones recorded 20 points to pick up the slack for leading scorer Terry Rozier, who went 3-for-11 from the field and finished with a season-low seven points before fouling out for the Cardinals (20-5, 8-4). Wayne Blackshear scored 14 of his 19 points in the first half after missing most of Wednesday’s comeback win over Pittsburgh with a hip injury while Montrezl Harrell collected 13 rebounds.

Blackshear carried Louisville’s offense early, scoring 11 of his team’s first 19 points and went 5-for-6 from the field in the first half while his teammates shot a combined 6-for-24. Jones hit a jumper near the end of the first half to send the Cardinals into the break with a one-point lead, added a 3-pointer early in the second half and drained a pair of free throws to stake Louisville to a three-point advantage.

After a jumper from Anton Gill following a timeout, Martin scored five straight points to begin a 9-2 spurt for N.C. State, which stretched its lead to 63-52 after Rozier departed with 4:56 left. The Cardinals got five free throws to close the gap to 63-57 just over two minutes later, and Blackshear made it a four-point game on a jumper with 1:22 remaining, but Anya threw down a thunderous dunk on the other end while Barber went 7-for-8 from the foul line over the final 52 seconds to hold off the rally.
