Oregon 80, USC 75: Pac-12 scoring leader Joseph Young finished with 26 points as the visiting Ducks held off the Trojans.

Elgin Cook added 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Dillon Brooks also scored 15 for Oregon (18-7, 8-4 Pac-12), which has won four in a row. Jordan Bell returned from a one-game suspension and scored eight points to lead the reserves for the Ducks.

Julian Jacobs had 18 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead USC (9-15, 1-11), which has lost nine straight. Darion Clark contributed 12 points and seven rebounds and Nikola Jovanovic finished with 11 points for the Trojans.

The Trojans battled back from an early 14-point deficit to tie the score at 39 on Katin Reinhardt’s jumper with 17:24 left, forcing Oregon to call a timeout. Bell immediately scored on a layup to spark a 13-4 run and the Ducks eventually went back up by 13 with 8:07 on the clock.

Jacobs scored on back-to-back possessions to pull USC back within three with 1:11 left, and the Trojans forced a turnover on the other end of the floor but reserve guard Kahlil Dukes missed a potential tying 3-pointer early in the shot clock. Young, a 94 percent free throw shooter, was fouled and made two free throws with 20 seconds left to extend the lead back to five.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USC PG Jordan McLaughlin, third on the team in scoring coming in (12.3) and tops in assists (4.7) and steals (1.6), went to the locker room with an apparent left-shoulder injury with just over 12 minutes remaining and did not return. He missed two games last month with a shoulder injury. … Oregon has won 10 straight overall against USC, the longest winning streak against the Trojans in program history. … USC came into the game outscoring its opponents by an average of a tenth of a point in the second half this season, and the Trojans outscored the Ducks 48-45 after halftime.
