Cincinnati 63, USF 55: Kevin Johnson scored all 11 of his points during a key 4:08 span of the second half and the host Bearcats blew a 16-point lead before rallying to rebuff the upset-minded Bulls.

Farad Cobb recorded 16 points as Cincinnati (17-6, 8-3 American Athletic) won for the sixth time in its last seven games en route to its 13th straight series victory at home. Octavius Ellis contributed eight points and 10 rebounds for the Bearcats, who prevailed despite shooting 36.7 percent from the field.

Corey Allen Jr. scored 18, but could not prevent USF (7-17, 1-10) from losing its ninth straight game despite shooting 60 percent in the second half. Freshman Troy Holston Jr. added a season-high 16 points while Jaleel Cousins registered seven points and seven rebounds for the Bulls, who were 5-for-11 from 3-point range and the free-throw line.

Cincinnati led 28-12 with less than four minutes left in the first half after Coreontae DeBerry scored five straight points before settling for a 31-20 lead at intermission. USF unleashed a 21-6 run out of the break - highlighted by eight consecutive points by Holston and a pair of dunks by Cousins - and led 41-40 with 10 minutes left.

Johnson scored 11 straight Bearcats points - nine on consecutive 3-pointers - to give Cincinnati the lead for good 48-46 with 5:58 to go and Cobb's long 3 with 3:37 left made it 51-47 before Holston answered with a 3. Shaquille Thomas' three-point play after an acrobatic putback put the Bearcats on top 54-50 with 1:50 to play and after Holston's 3 with 33.3 seconds to play cut it to 57-53, Cincinnati sealed the victory on Troy Caupain's breakaway basket with 8.6 seconds left.

USF's Chris Perry (10.8 points, team-high 7.1 rebounds) missed his fifth straight game (undisclosed medical reason). ... The Bearcats lead the series 27-8, including 16-1 at home.
