No. 7 Villanova 69, No. 24 Georgetown 53: Darrun Hilliard II led the way with 15 points as the host Wildcats avenged an ugly loss to the Hoyas from last month.

Josh Hart added 13 points and JayVaughn Pinkston had 10 as Villanova (21-2, 8-2 Big East) bounced back from a 20-point defeat at Georgetown on Jan. 19. Kris Jenkins was 3-of-3 from 3-point range off the bench as the Wildcats were 12-of-24 from long range, compared to 1-of-17 for the Hoyas.

Freshman L.J. Peak paced Georgetown (15-8, 7-5) with 15 points despite shooting 6-of-19 from the field. Aaron Bowen notched 10 points off the Hoyas' bench but also had four of his team's 15 turnovers.

The Wildcats erased an early 7-6 deficit by holding the Hoyas without a point for more than five minutes, during which they scored 13 straight points, including 3-pointers by Hilliard and Dylan Ennis. Another 3-point barrage, this one courtesy of Phil Booth, Ryan Arcidiacono and Jenkins, increased the cushion to 30-13 with less than six minutes to go in the half.

Jabril Trawick's bucket drew Georgetown within 43-29 with about 16 minutes remaining, but the visitors did not record another field goal until less than nine minutes were left on the clock. In the midst of that field-goal drought, Jenkins drained back-to-back 3-pointers for Villanova before Hart knocked in another from long range and Arcidiacono went 3-of-3 from the foul line after getting hacked on a 3-point attempt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgetown, which made its first 3-point attempt before missing its final 16, has lost back-to-back games for the first time since late November. ... Hoyas G D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who had surpassed 20 points in each of the last two games, finished with two points on 1-of-7 shooting. ... Ennis chipped in eight points, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals. He also had five of Villanova's 20 turnovers.
