No. 7 Villanova 70, Marquette 52: Ryan Arcidiacono continued his strong recent play, scoring 18 points to fuel the host Wildcats to a Big East triumph.

Arcidiacono knocked down 4-of-7 3-pointers as Villanova (20-2, 7-2 Big East) drained 11-of-26 beyond the arc en route to its seventh win in eight games. Four other Wildcats scored in double figures, including Darrun Hilliard II (12 points) and JayVaughn Pinkston (10 points, seven rebounds).

The Golden Eagles (10-12, 2-8) failed to reach 20 points in the first half and went on to lose their sixth straight game. Jajuan Johnson made a 3-pointer in the game's final minute to finish with 10 points - the lone Marquette player to reach double figures.

Hilliard and Arcidiacono nearly outscored Marquette by themselves in the first half, combining for 17 points as the Wildcats took a 36-19 lead into the break. Marquette's Matt Carlino made back-to-back 3-pointers to create a 12-12 tie midway through the half, but the Golden Eagles managed only one bucket until Carlino's 3-pointer in the waning seconds of the period while Arcidiacono scored eight points to fuel a game-changing 24-4 run by Villanova.

Marquette went on an 8-0 burst spanning the two halves before Villanova answered with a 14-2 surge to take permanent command of the contest. Dylan Ennis' dunk with just over 12 minutes left pushed the advantage to 50-26 and the Golden Eagles never got closer than 16 thereafter.
