No. 22 Butler 85, St. John's 62: Kellen Dunham recorded 21 points as all five Bulldogs starters delivered a solid performance in a home win over the Red Storm.

Alex Barlow added 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting while Andrew Chrabascz scored 14 points and matched Dunham with seven rebounds. Roosevelt Jones contributed 13 points and Kameron Woods grabbed 12 rebounds to go with nine points for Butler (17-6, 7-3 Big East).

Sir'Dominic Pointer paced St. John's (14-8, 3-6) with 19 points and six rebounds. Rysheed Jordan added 17 points but shot only 6-of-21 from the floor.

The Bulldogs led 8-0 before the Red Storm scored their first points more than 5 1/2 minutes into the game, and St. John's did not reach double figures until just over eight minutes remained in the first half. Butler scored nine points in less than a minute to push its advantage to 24-13 en route to a 36-28 lead at the break.

The second half began in familiar fashion for St. John's, which allowed the first seven points and only managed one field goal in the first six-plus minutes of the period. The Red Storm got as close as eight points down the stretch - the final time at 70-62 - before Butler punctuated its sixth win in seven games with a 15-0 game-ending run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jones and Pointer led all scorers with 10 points apiece in the first half. ... Dunham scored a season-high 28 points in the first meeting against St. John's this season. In this one, he was 6-of-12 from the floor and 7-of-7 from the foul line. ... Red Storm leading scorer D'Angelo Harrison struggled to 10 points on 2-of-6 shooting and had three of his team's 13 turnovers. ... St. John's F Chris Obekpa was assessed a Flagrant 2 and ejected in the first half for throwing an elbow to the back of Butler reserve Tyler Wideman.
