Florida State 55, No. 23 Miami (Fla.) 54: Montay Brandon scored 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting to lead the host Seminoles to an upset win over the Hurricanes in ACC play.

Kiel Turpin added 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting off the bench for Florida State (12-10, 4-5 ACC), which has won three of its last four games. Jarquez Smith had nine points and Boris Bojanovsky finished with eight for the Seminoles, who erased a 16-point first-half deficit.

Sheldon McClellan totaled 13 points to lead the offense for Miami (14-7, 4-4), which lost its second consecutive game following a 4-1 run. Davon Reed added 11 points for the Hurricanes, who shot 42.6 percent from the field and a mere 6-of-11 from the free-throw line.

The Seminoles moved in front on a 3-pointer from Robbie Berwick to take a 13-11 lead just under 7 1/2 minutes into the game before Miami got hot, using a 19-1 run that featured a pair of 3-pointers from Manu Lecomte to establish a 30-14 advantage with 2:45 left until halftime. In the final two minutes of the half, Bojanovsky and Brandon converted three-point plays and Xavier Rathan-Mayes drained a 3-pointer to give Florida State some life, but the Hurricanes hit the locker room with a 36-25 edge.

After the break, the Seminoles opened the frame on a 15-4 run, led by nine points from Brandon, to pull within 40-36 in the opening 4:25 and after a McClellan 3-pointer and a Tonye Jekiri bucket stretched Miami's lead back to 45-36, a layup from Turpin capped a 7-1 spurt that brought Florida State to within 46-43 with just over 11 minutes to go. A bucket from Turpin put the Seminoles ahead 55-54 with 1:38 to play and, after a timeout, with the shot clock off on the final possession, McClellan's game-winning attempt at the buzzer wouldn't go, preserving the win for Florida State.
