North Carolina State 81, Georgia Tech 80 (OT): Trevor Lacey hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer and Anthony Barber scored 23 points as the visiting Wolfpack survived squandering an early 14-point advantage to snap a three-game losing streak.

Lacey finished with 19 points, getting the opportunity to win the game after Quinton Stephens missed two free throws with 4.9 seconds remaining in overtime. Barber scored 18 points in the first half for North Carolina State (14-9, 5-5 ACC), and Kyle Washington finished with 14 points, forcing overtime on free throws with 37.3 seconds left.

Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 22 of his 23 points after halftime for the Yellow Jackets (10-11, 1-8), which pulled down 22 offensive rebounds in outrebounding the Wolfpack, 49-31. Charles Mitchell scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, Demarco Cox added 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Travis Jorgenson scored a career-high 14 points.

Georgia Tech trailed 40-31 at halftime but surged to its first lead at 51-49 on Jorgenson’s layup off Georges-Hunt’s steal with 10:04 remaining. Georges-Hunt scored seven points in a two-minute span to push the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 60-55, but Washington’s two free throws evened the score at 66 before Georges-Hunt was called for an offensive foul with 1.8 seconds left in regulation.

The Yellow Jackets led by four in overtime before baskets from Lennard Freeman and Washington evened the score at 76, but Georges-Hunt hit two free throws with 43 seconds to go to put Georgia Tech ahead 78-76. Jorgenson made two free throws with 19 seconds to play to push the lead to 80-76 and after Lacey’s basket cut it to 80-78, Stephens missed two free throws and Lacey’s 3-pointer from 22 feet beat the buzzer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Barber hit 7-of-10 shots in the first half, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, but did not attempt another shot until his three-point play with 7:17 to play in regulation. … Lacey surpassed 1,000 career points on a basket with 13:14 remaining in the first half, and Georges-Hunt passed 1,000 career points on a 3-pointer with 8:56 left in the second half. … N.C. State started the game 7-of-9 from the field in building a 17-3 advantage.
