Eastern Kentucky 72, No. 19 Miami (Fla.) 44: Corey Walden led a balanced offense with 18 points and the visiting Colonels made 14-of-26 from 3-point range to shock the Hurricanes.

Timmy Knipp contributed 17 points, draining a team-high five from behind the arc, while Eric Stutz added 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Eastern Kentucky (6-4). Isaac McGlone made 4-of-4 from 3-point range to score 12 off the bench for the Colonels, who shot 50.9 percent from the field overall.

Sheldon McClellan led the way with 14 points for Miami (9-2), which has dropped two of its last three contests. Freshman Deandre Burnett added nine points while second-leading scorer Angel Rodriguez was 0-of-6 from the field and scored one point as the Hurricanes shot 29.3 percent from the field.

Miami started the second half cold and Eastern Kentucky ran off 14 straight points early on, highlighted by three 3-pointers from McGlone, to push its lead to 43-27 with 13:21 to go. Knipp drained a pair of 3-pointers and Jaylen Babb-Harrison had a basket to extend the lead to 51-29 before the Colonels cruised home.

The Hurricanes scored only three points in the first eight minutes of the game and the Colonels drained five shots from behind the arc to lead by as any as eight before settling for a 27-25 lead at intermission. Burnett came off the bench to make three 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to keep the Hurricanes in striking distance.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Eastern Kentucky improved to 36-81 against current members of the ACC, including 2-2 versus the Hurricanes. … Miami G Davon Reed scored seven points off the bench in his third game of the season after missing the first eight with an injury. … The Colonels had only nine turnovers and forced the Hurricanes to cough up the ball 14 times.
