USF 79, Jacksonville 65: Corey Allen Jr. scored a career-high 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting as the host Bulls disposed of the Dolphins.

Anthony Collins added 13 points and a game-high seven assists for USF (5-1), which won its second straight game to neutralize its first loss of the season last week. Nehemias Morillo contributed 12 points and five rebounds for the Bulls while Bo Zeigler grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and freshman Ruben Guerrero blocked four shots to go with six points in his USF debut.

Andris Misters scored 18 points to lead the offense for Jacksonville (2-5), which committed 15 turnovers while handing out just 10 assists. Josh Adeyeye added 16 points and Tim Gill collected 11 points and eight rebounds for the Dolphins, who shot just 34.9 percent.

Allen's 3-pointer snapped an early 9-9 tie and sparked a 22-8 run for USF to open up a 31-17 lead with just over 8:30 remaining in the first half. Jacksonville answered with a 17-3 spurt to pull even at 34-34 on a pair of free throws from Antwon Clayton and, after Allen Jr. pushed the Bulls back in front with a layup, Marcel White drained a 3-pointer to give the Dolphins a 37-36 halftime lead.

After the break, Misters answered an 11-5 USF run with a 3-pointer that pulled Jacksonville to within 49-48 with just under 13 minutes left but the Bulls responded with 12 straight points, led by seven from Allen Jr., to open up a 61-48 advantage. After Adeyeye's 3-pointer brought the Dolphins within 64-60 with just under six minutes to play, Collins and Zeigler helped USF close out the win with four points apiece during a 15-5 surge to end the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: USF has prevailed over Jacksonville in four straight meetings and is now 25-21 in the all-time series. ... The Dolphins have lost 11 of their last 12 road games. ... Bulls C Chris Perry finished with eight points on 3-of-8 shooting - his second consecutive game with fewer than 10 points after averaging 16.8 in USF's first four contests.
