Indiana 74, No. 23 SMU 68: Freshman James Blackmon Jr. poured in 26 points and Yogi Ferrell added 13 points and seven assists as the host Hoosiers held off the Mustangs.

Troy Williams came off the bench to score 11 points in his first action of the season for Indiana (3-0), which struggled in its set offense but took advantage of 19 SMU turnovers. Nick Zeisloft chipped in 10 points for the Hoosiers, who were 12-of-33 from 3-point range.

Ben Moore scored 16 points and Nic Moore added 13 points and six assists for SMU (1-2), which has lost two straight on the road after falling at Gonzaga on Monday. Sterling Brown contributed 11 points and nine rebounds for the Mustangs.

After struggling at both ends for most of the night, Indiana's Hanner Mosquera-Perea drew an offensive foul to negate a Ryan Manuel basket with 7:57 left, preserving Indiana's 54-52 lead and spurring a 14-2 run. Collin Hartman and Zeisloft hit back-to-back 3-pointers to push the lead to 60-52, and the Mustangs never regained the lead.

SMU led by as many as 12 early before Blackmon shot Indiana back into it with 14 first-half points and the Hoosiers took a 38-33 halftime lead. The Hoosiers missed their first seven shots of the second half as SMU charged out of the break with a 10-0 run to take a five-point lead.
