North Carolina State 93, Jackson State 58: Trevor Lacey scored 22 points in his Wolfpack debut and host N.C. State began its 105th season with a rout of the Tigers.

Anthony Barber contributed a career-high 25 points, six rebounds and six assists as the Wolfpack won their 21st straight season opener. Lacey, who sat out last season after transferring from Alabama, scored 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting in the first half while Barber had 16 to help N.C. State take a 47-26 lead at intermission.

Javeres Brent scored 13 points but was 3-of-14 from the field for Jackson State (0-1). The Tigers, who were voted to finish eighth in the 10-team Southwestern Athletic Conference, shot 28.1 percent from the field and missed 19 of their 24 3-point attempts while getting outrebounded 49-35.

Lacey immediately made his presence felt by making his first five shots - including three from 3-point range - and scored half of the Wolfpack’s first 36 points as N.C. State raced out to a 23-point lead. Barber recorded 13 points during the opening burst, while the Wolfpac defense helped force Jackson State to miss 18 of its first 23 shots.

The margin grew to 41-15 when Lacey scored his final points of the first half before Brent scored nine straight to ignite an 11-6 run to close the period. The Wolfpack steadily increased their advantage after the break and led 85-46 on BeeJay Anya's dunk with 3:43 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lacey last played March 26, 2013, when he recorded eight assists but missed a shot at the buzzer in Alabama's 58-57 loss to Maryland in the NIT quarterfinals. ... Wolfpack G Ralston Turner has made a 3-pointer in 19 straight games - the longest active streak among ACC players. ... N.C. State opens with six straight home contests while Jackson State begins the season with five road games in 12 days and plays nine of its first 10 away from home.
