North Carolina State 67, Miami (Fla.) 58: T.J. Warren scored 24 points and the Wolfpack used a late 12-0 run to hold on in the second round of the ACC tournament in Atlanta.

Warren, the ACC Player of the Year, finished 9-for-18 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds for seventh-seeded North Carolina State (20-12), which advances to Friday’s quarterfinals against No. 2 seed Syracuse. Ralston Turner scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half, shooting 5-for-8 from 3-point range.

Rion Brown scored 22 points to lead No. 10 seed Miami (17-16), which stayed close by shooting 48.8 percent from the field but could not overcome 15 turnovers. Tonye Jekiri finished with six points, nine rebounds and two blocks for the Hurricanes, the defending tournament champions.

Miami rallied from seven points down in the second half, scoring nine unanswered points to take a 53-51 lead on Davon Reed’s basket with 3:50 left. Turner tied the game with two free throws, Warren’s basket with 2:24 left put North Carolina State ahead 55-53 and Turner added a 3-pointer after Miami’s 15th turnover of the night to push its lead to 58-53 with 1:48 to go.

Warren scored five consecutive points to cap a game-opening 10-2 run for the Wolfpack, and five Warren free throws inside the final 90 seconds helped North Carolina State build a 26-22 halftime advantage. Miami used a 9-0 spurt early in the second half to take its first lead at 33-32 on Manu Lecomte’s jumper with 14:13 remaining, before a 10-2 North Carolina State run staked the Wolfpack to a 42-35 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Warren scored 20-plus points for the 27th time this season. … Miami held the Wolfpack to 32.1 percent shooting from the field in the first half, but were hindered by nine turnovers. … A victory Friday would put the Wolfpack in the conference semifinals for the third consecutive season.
