Freshman Darius Thompson surpassed his season total entering the contest with 16 points for Tennessee (5-2), which improved to 8-2 all-time against Wake Forest. Leading scorer Jordan McRae was limited to a season-low 10 points to round out the three Volunteers to finish in double figures.

Wake Forest answered with four straight points, but came up empty over the 4 ½ minutes as the Volunteers built a 15-point advantage.
