Miami (Fla.) 69, Wake Forest 56: Garrius Adams scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Hurricanes pulled away from the visiting Demon Deacons in the second half.

Rion Brown contributed 19 points for Miami (16-15, 7-11 ACC), which shot 52 percent from the field and had a 38-19 edge on the boards. Manu Lecomte recorded nine points and six assists while Erik Swoope scored 10 and Tonye Jekiri added nine rebounds for the Hurricanes.

Coron Williams was the only player that reached double figures for Wake Forest (16-15, 6-12) with 17 points. Leading scorer Codi Miller-McIntyre was held to two points on 1-of-5 shooting as the Demon Deacons could not build on an upset victory over No. 4 Duke on Wednesday.

Brown scored the final five in a 14-0 run that gave Miami a nine-point edge and the Hurricanes led by as much as 11 in the first half before settling for a 29-23 edge at intermission. Adams, among six seniors honored in their final regular-season home game, led all scorers with 10 in the opening 20 minutes.

Jekiri and Swoope each had two baskets as the Hurricanes ran off 12 straight points to build a 41-25 lead with just over 13 minutes left. The Demon Deacons pulled within 10 before Brown drained a 3-pointer and followed with a dunk on the fast break and Miami went on to win for the fourth time in six games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Brown has scored at least 19 points in five of the last six games for the Hurricanes. … Williams made five 3-pointers to give him 64 on the season, becoming the first Demon Deacon to make at least 60 in a season since Justin Gray in 2006. … Miami moved into 10th place in the ACC with the victory and Wake Forest dropped into a tie for 11th with Notre Dame and Georgia Tech.
