No. 16 Kentucky 77, LSU 76 (OT): Julius Randle scored the decisive basket with 3.9 seconds left and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Wildcats avoided being swept by the visiting Tigers in SEC play.

Aaron Harrison scored 21 points and James Young added 20 points for Kentucky (21-6, 11-3). Randle corralled the ball in the lane in the final seconds after it was loose and put in the short shot and LSU failed to get off a final shot as Andre Stringer lost the ball just past midcourt.

Johnny O’Bryant III had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Anthony Hickey added 20 points and eight assists for the Tigers (16-10, 7-7). Jordan Mickey added 11 points and nine rebounds as LSU lost for the third time in four games.

Hickey drained a 3-pointer with 1:46 remaining in regulation to give LSU a 64-63 advantage but Harrison hit two free throws with 10.9 seconds left to knot the score at 65 and force the overtime. Five points by Hickey helped the Tigers take a 74-71 edge with 1:59 to go in OT and Stringer’s driving hoop gave LSU a 76-75 advantage with 11.5 seconds left prior to the final sequence.

The Wildcats led 35-32 at halftime before LSU began the second half with eight straight points. Kentucky fought back to lead by six before the Tigers caught the Wildcats at 55 on a free throw by Stringer with 7:08 remaining.
