Washington 71, No. 17 Colorado 54: C.J. Wilcox scored a career-high 31 points as the host Huskies snapped a 12-game losing streak against ranked opponents with a victory over the Buffaloes, who lost Spencer Dinwiddie to an apparent serious knee injury.

Wilcox, a senior guard who is averaging 20.5 points, was 12-for-18 from the floor and 7-for-12 from 3-point range as Washington (11-6, 3-1 Pac-12) made 15 of its first 20 shots from the field in the second half. Andrew Andrews scored 14 points, freshman Nigel Williams-Goss added 12 and Mike Anderson grabbed 10 rebounds.

Dinwiddie, a Pac-12 preseason first-team selection who leads Colorado in scoring at 14.7 points, went down with 2:52 left in the first half when he appeared to take a bad step while suddenly altering direction as he began a drive to the basket. He appeared to be in significant pain and needed assistance while leaving the floor.

Freshman Wesley Gordon scored 11 points and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds for Colorado (14-3, 3-1), which shot 34.5 percent from the floor and was 1-for-12 from 3-point range. Josh Scott had 15 points while Askia Booker, the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week, was held scoreless after missing nine field goal attempts.

Without defensive specialist Dinwiddie hounding him, Wilcox exploded for 16 points in the first 7:11 of the second half to help the Huskies turn a three-point halftime deficit into a 51-39 advantage. Washington extended the lead to many as 18 and Wilcox achieved a career high with a steal and dunk in the final minute.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Buffaloes coach Tad Boyle was not optimistic about the injury to Dinwiddie, who will undergo an MRI exam on Monday. "My gut says it's not good, but we'll see," Boyle said. ... Booker is 2-for-21 from the field in the last two games while Colorado is 4-for-24 from 3-point range during that span. ... Washington lost its first three games against ranked opponents this season and last won such a game March 12, 2011 - a 77-75 victory in overtime over Arizona. ... Dinwiddie watched a portion of the second half from the bench before giving his team a motivational speech during a timeout and leaving the floor for good with a trainer.
