No. 11 Oregon 71, Illinois 64: Mike Moser and Joseph Young scored 14 points apiece as the host Ducks rallied from a nine-point second-half deficit to remain unbeaten.

Elgin Cook contributed 12 points off the bench and Johnathan Loyd, who came in fourth in the nation in assists (7.4), finished with 11 points and seven assists for Oregon (9-0). Damyean Dotson added 10 points, giving the Ducks five players in double figures for the fifth time in the last six games.

Tracy Abrams had 16 points and five assists and Rayvonte Rice also scored 16 for Illinois (9-2). Jon Ekey added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Illini.

Both sides traded five-point leads in the first half before heading to the locker room tied at 32. Illinois did not commit a turnover in the first 10 minutes of the second half as it stretched its lead to nine, but gave the ball away three times in a little more than two minutes as Oregon began an 11-0 run to take a 58-54 lead with 6:06 left.

Moser’s first 3-pointer of the game extended the lead back to four with 2:36 to play and Cook and Loyd made baskets to push the advantage to five with 28 seconds left. Loyd stepped to the line with 16 seconds remaining and made both free throws to cement the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oregon came in as the No. 1 scoring team in country (91.4), while Illinois had not allowed a team to score more than 67 points this season until Loyd made his final two free throws and then converted a steal into a layup at the buzzer. … The Illini were trying to hold their first 11 opponents to less than 70 points for the first time since 2005-06, when they accomplished that feat in the first 16 games. … Illinois 6-11 forward Nnanna Egwu was 2-for-8 on 3-pointers this season when he converted one from beyond the arc with 3:33 left to give the Illini their final lead at 59-58.
