No. 1 Arizona 72, No. 25 Michigan 70: Brandon Ashley scored 18 points and Nick Johnson added 14, including going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line in the final minute, as the visiting Wildcats rallied to beat the Wolverines.

Johnson hit two free throws with 24 seconds left put Arizona (11-0) ahead for good at 67-66 and then added two more after a Michigan miss. Kaleb Tarczewski chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds while Aaron Gordon also had 14 points for the Wildcats, who had a 37-24 edge on the boards.

Glenn Robinson III had 20 points and Caris LeVert 15 points for Michigan (6-4), which lost for the first time in 21 games against a non-conference opponent at home. Nik Stauskas recorded 14 points for the Wolverines, who shot 50 percent from the floor, including 8-of-17 3-pointers.

Robinson was 7-of-7 shooting for 16 points in the first half, capped by a 3-pointer in the final seconds, as the Wolverines took a 37-28 lead at the intermission. Arizona made only 34.4 percent of its shots from the field in the opening 20 minutes and allowed 6-of-11 from behind the 3-point arc.

Michigan pushed its lead to 11 on a Mitch McGary dunk to start the second half before Ashley scored four points during an 11-2 run for Arizona that pulled the Wildcats within two. The Wolverines extended their lead to eight again, but Arizona took its first lead of the second half on Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s three-point play with 2:32 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wildcats had 17 offensive rebounds to Michigan’s six and made 14-of-15 from the free-throw line. … Michigan G Spike Albrecht added 10 points and F Jon Horford blocked four shots – all in the first half. … Arizona won for the seventh time in nine meetings against Michigan.
