No. 6 Louisville 113, Louisiana-Lafayette 74: Montrezl Harrell had 20 points and eight rebounds as the Cardinals scored their second-most points in the Rick Pitino era to defeat the visiting Ragin' Cajuns.

Wayne Blackshear finished with only two field goals, but was 9-of-10 from the foul line to finish with 15 points and also had four steals for the Cardinals (8-1), who shot 61.3 percent from the field and 82.5 percent from the foul line. Chris Jones had 19 points, Russ Smith chipped in with 16 points and Luke Hancock scored 10.

Shawn Long, who has been nursing a toe injury, made 11-of-19 field goals and scored 25 points for the Ragin' Cajuns (6-3). Kasey Shepherd added 18 points, Steven Wronkoski had 10 points and leading scorer Elfrid Payton managed 12 points and 10 assists.

The Cardinals led by as many as 11 points early on, but the Ragin' Cajuns made eight of their nine field goals during a 22-9 run to take their first lead at 34-32 with 6:52 remaining. The game was later tied at 41, but Louisville embarked on a 9-0 surge before closing the half with a 54-47 advantage.

Louisville opened the second half with a 6-0 run in the first minute and put the game away with 13 unanswered points before going on to set a record for points scored at the KFC Yum! Center. The previous record of 104 points was set Dec. 27, 2010, against Morgan State.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hancock hit the 1,000-point mark for his career, which included two years at George Mason. ... The Ragin' Cajuns were 19-of-31 from the field – including 7-of-10 from 3-point territory – and the Cardinals were 20-of-28 in the first half. ... The highest point total under Pitino is 114 scored in a victory over Western Kentucky on Dec. 22, 2010.
