No. 10 Miami (Fla.) 69, Boston College 58: Shane Larkin scored 20 points, including a big 3-pointer late, as the top-seeded Hurricanes survived in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament at Greensboro, N.C.

Kenny Kadji added 15 points and 11 rebounds for Miami (25-6), which will play North Carolina State in the semifinals on Saturday. Trey McKinney Jones chipped in with 12 points for the Hurricanes, who finished the game on a 14-3 run and shot almost 70 percent in the second half.

Patrick Heckmann led the way with 15 points for eighth-seeded Boston College (16-17), which had its four-game winning streak snapped. Olivier Hanlan and Ryan Anderson scored 14 points apiece for the Eagles.

Miami led by as much as 13 in the first half before Boston College scored 19 of the final 23 points – eight by Anderson – to forge a 27-25 lead at intermission. The Eagles made nine of their last 15 shots in the opening 20 minutes.

Boston College pushed the lead to 42-37 on a Lonnie Jackson 3-pointer before Miami scored 11 of the next 13 points, including seven by Larkin, to take a four-point edge with 10:43 to go. After the Eagles tied it at 55 with 3:18 left, Durand Scott drained two free throws, Larkin made a 3-pointer and Rion Brown converted a runner in the lane as the Hurricanes pulled away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami broke the program record for wins in a season, passing the 2001-02 team. … Hanlan, who made his last 12 shots in a 41-point performance Thursday, drained his first four before missing with 13:48 left in the contest. … Miami has beaten Boston College three times this season.
