Jordan Adams scored 20 points and the visiting Bruins built a 25-point lead en route to defeating the Trojans in Pac-12 play.

David Wear had 10 points and 11 rebounds to help UCLA (20-7, 10-4 Pac-12) remain a half-game behind co-leaders Arizona and Oregon in the conference race. Kyle Anderson, Larry Drew II and Shabazz Muhammad each added 11 points apiece for the Bruins.

J.T. Terrell scored 17 points to pace USC (12-15, 7-7), which lost its second straight game. Omar Oraby added 11 points and Eric Wise tallied 10.

UCLA never trailed after scoring the first seven points and had a 17-4 edge less than five minutes into the contest. The Bruins led 47-26 at halftime after shooting 60.7 percent over the first 20 minutes.

Anderson’s layup made it 51-26 with 18:57 remaining and UCLA still led by 20 with just over nine minutes remaining. The Trojans responded with a 10-2 run and later pulled within nine on Byron Wesley’s basket with 4:01 to play before failing to score again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Drew had six assists but also committed five turnovers after having two or fewer in 19 of 26 games. … USC’s Dewayne Dedmon had 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks. … UCLA’s Travis Wear missed the contest after injuring his right foot in Saturday’s practice.
