Austin Dufault scored 16 points and host Colorado, which lost its top four scorers from last year’s 24-win team, rolled to an 85-57 victory over Division II Fort Lewis on Friday.

It was the 25th straight home victory over non-conference opponents for Colorado, the second-longest streak in school history. The Buffaloes won their season opener for the fourth straight year.

Tad Boyle’s young club won thanks to some exceptional shooting from the floor, an aspect of the game that had the coach concerned before the season began. Colorado shot 53.4 from the field.

Dufault finished 7-for-9 from the field. Carlon Brown, who was 5-for-8, added 15 points, while Andre Roberson scored 13 and Askia Booker 11.

Fort Lewis (0-2) got 23 points from Matt Billups, who made 8-of-11 field goal attempts.

Colorado did a good job defensively on Fort Lewis star Matt Morris, a preseason all-Rocky Mountain selection, who scored eight points.
