Jalen Courtney scored a career-high 14 points off the bench and host Louisiana State posted a seventh straight win 69-37 over winless Grambling State on Thursday.

LSU (10-3) was missing leading scorer, Andre Stringer, for a fifth straight game, but the Tigers didn’t miss a beat thanks to their outstanding depth and another strong defensive effort. Louisiana State has held seven straight opponents under 60 points for the first time in 59 years.

St. John’s transfer Quincy Roberts scored 19 points for the Tigers (0-10), who shot just 22 percent.

LSU, meanwhile, got contributions from everyone. Eight players scored at least four points, but the biggest surprise was Courtney. The little-used sophomore reserve guard entered averaging 1.9 points, but finished 5-of-8 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.

The win was nothing to brag about, though. Grambling State entered as one of six winless teams in Division I and the lowest scoring team among that group.
